Peace Circles training participants in Edinburgh
Peace Circles training participants in Edinburgh
At either end of March two groups of women met for a weekend to explore leading ‘Creators of Peace Circles.’ One group of 8 met in Edinburgh at the beginning of the month (in perfect sunshine, with wonderful clear panoramas of the city.) The other group (of up to 15, at varying times) met in Oxford, by this time full of spring flowers. We came all over: Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Coventry, Exeter, Canterbury. Both weekends had the same ingredients : a deepening of calling, rediscovering or making new friends, good food, sunshine (!) and a beautiful location.

Creators of Peace Circles’ are a concept devised by the international women’s initiative ‘Creators of Peace.’ A manual is provided during the training, which is designed to be a tool for small groups gathering informally to explore together the destruction and creation of peace in the heart, home and community. Facilitation training means both thinking through the practicalities and needs involved with running these six-week discussion groups, but also looking at the material in more depth and deepening our understanding of our calling to be ‘creators of peace.’
