Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:30 to 20:30

The need for peacemakers is more necessary than ever as conflict erupts along lines of ethnicity, religion, class, gender or generation.

With that in mind, we have organised five training workshops consisting of a screening of films on outstanding peacemakers at work, followed by facilitated discussion. They are aimed at anyone who is interested in exploring peacemaking or actively engaged in it, at community and national level. They will learn new skills by reflecting on others’ approaches. They will take place on Thursdays in May at Greencoat Place, from 6.30pm (refreshments) to 8.30pm.

2 May: The Man Who Built Peace – The Frank Buchman Story
9 May: For the Love of Tomorrow
16 May: The Imam and the Pastor
23 May: An African Answer
30 May: Beyond Forgiving

Peter Riddell, Convenor of IofC’s Agenda for Reconciliation programme, will facilitate the workshops. He has devoted over four decades to trustbuilding particularly with people who have suffered from Britain’s colonial rule.
