Tea, Treats and Tales at the Oxford International Women’s Festival

On Sunday, 13 March, Creators of Peace held a Tea, Tarts and Tales event as part of Oxford International Women’s Festival. It took place at Peace House, the headquarters of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and raised funds towards sending women from the UK and Romania to the Living Peace conference organized by Creators of Peace in Caux, Switzerland, this summer.

Tea, Treats and Tales at the Oxford International Women’s FestivalThe event was great fun and it was wonderful to see so many women, and a few men, show up: 32 people in all. Rina from El Salvador and Shabibi from Afghanistan spoke movingly about their life experiences, hardships, and stories of change and forgiveness. Their stories brought those present into a true encounter of with what Creators of Peace is.

We had a massive spread of sweet and savoury treats including delectable vegan chocolate torte, mouthwatering crab-apple jelly tarts, captivating carrot cake, and much more. We also sold handmade Romanian crafts. In total, we raised £115.

Tea, Treats and Tales at the Oxford International Women’s FestivalOur next Creators of Peace event will be a ‘Peace Circle Taster’ on Thursday, 28 April, 10:00am-12:00pm at the Fellowship of Reconciliation, Peace House. This will be followed by an eight-session Peace Circle from 19 May–7 July.
